Today, on June 14, the Frunzensky Court of Vladivostok fined the company “Oceanarium DV” 56.429 million rubles (870 000 USD) for violating fishing rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company said that they are not satisfied with this outcome of the proceedings. \u201cWe will appeal against the court\u2019s decision,\u201d said a representative of the “Oceanarium DV”.
Also during the trial, a lawyer of the company announced the intention to release animals: \u201cYesterday, the release of four killer whales was scheduled, but it was postponed for a week,\u201d said the lawyer of “Oceanarium DV” during the court session. In this case, the lawyer did not explain where it was planned to release the animals and why the release was postponed.

Recall that Russian and International experts do not recommend releasing killer whales and beluga whales right in Srednyaya Bay and assure that such release is fraught with many risks to the lives of animals. The team of world-famous oceanographer Jean-Michel Cousteau sent detailed recommendations for the rehabilitation and release of killer whales and beluga whales to the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, but recommendations are not implemented still, and instead of rehabilitation process animals are being visited by children excursions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As reported, on June 7 in a similar case, the Frunzensky Court of Vladivostok found guilty of violating the fishing rules and fined \u201cWhite Whale LLC\u201d 28 million rubles (435 000 USD).
Similar cases are being heard in the Frunzensky district court in respect of two other capture companies, \u201cAfalina LLC\u201d and \u201cSochi Dolphinarium LLC\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
