Today, transportation of three more killer whales has begun. All three were loaded from the third seapen. According to the information from open sources the animal names are Zoya, Tikhon and Gaika. Two more killer whales – Forest and Kharya remain in the second seapen – they will be transported next time.
The route will last 5-6 days and remains the same: Srednaya Bay – Khabarovsk-Cape Perovsky.
⠀
For the first time, independent observers, represented by representatives of Greenpeace Russia, were allowed to the transportation and release process. In the previous two releases, volunteers managed to observe the loading and part of the transportation on their own, but the release itself remained hidden from the public eye.
⠀
This time, Greenpeace of Russia, together with independent expert of marine mammals Viktor Nikiforov, will be present directly at the place of release of the animals and observe the process.
⠀
We hope that very soon three killer whales will successfully reach the Sea of Okhotsk and get back long-awaited freedom!
