Once free, the killer whales swam to the Academy Bay, hunted there (according to their moves), then went to the Uda Gulf, where they continued to hunt for three days. Then they moved north along the mainland coast of the Sea of Okhotsk and reached the area north of the village Ayan. On the 10th of July, the animals turned around and went to the south. They stayed for a while in a small bay of Borisov, south of the village Ayan, then they continued to move direction south and by July 12 they stayed at the latitude of the northern coast of Bolshoy Shantar Island, between the island and the mainland.

These places are known for habitat of orcas. However, it is not known yet whether two whales joined any wild family or they hunt independently.

According to the satellite tag attached to one of the released beluga whales, for the last few days it has been located in the area of the Academy Bay.

Concerning other three orcas that were released on July 16, they are also staying together and are still in the area of Cape Perovsky.
