We have great news today: Greenpeace Russia will take part in third release of killer whales from “Whale jail”

July 24, 2019

Greenpeace Russia will take part in third release of killer whales from “Whale jail”. VNIRO and Greenpeace reached this agreement. The release operation is expected to start on August 1st, next week.

Greenpeace will act as an independent observer during the operation to make the process transparent and hopefully avoid rumors and speculations.

VNIRO and Greenpeace agreed that both sides will act in a constructive and clear manner in holding and publishing of the operation. Transportation will be held under the same logistic scheme as two previous release operations – starting Srednyaya bay, ending at the Sea of Okhotsk coast.

Greenpeace Russia will be publishing updates in a timely manner starting from the loading to the trucks at Srednyaya bay.
